64 character width

Reading online is harder than reading on paper. Reading across the whole width of your screen is harder still. A good rule is to make sure that no span of text is more than 64 characters.

Here's a couple of images of the same content, one full screen on my laptop, the other reduced.

A Cambridgeshire "Getting further help" page shown at full width on a laptop screen

The same Cambridgeshire "Getting further help" page shown at a narrower, reduced width

In the first image you'll have to move your head to read comfortably. In the second image your head will stay still as you read.

You might need to talk to your tech people to look at how to reduce the width of the main text boxes on your Local Offer. It will make things better for everyone.
