Untangle very long sentences

Some examples:

1. Your school, college or apprenticeship provider will try hard to help and support you with education, health and social care services
2. After speaking with your parents or people who support you and your teacher or tutor, it may be decided that you would benefit from the support of an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan
3. Places like your school, college or apprenticeship provider will look at your Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan and make sure they help you reach your outcomes (the skills you need to learn to reach your aspirations)

I love bullet points on the web. They really help to break things into easy to read bits. Let's go:

1. Your school, college or apprenticeship provider will support you with

• education
• health
• social care

Do we need "try hard" or "help and support"? What do these phrases add?

2. We may decide you need an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan after speaking with

• your parents or people who support you
• your teacher or tutor

Breaking the sentence up like this really helps readers to keep the point of the sentence flowing.

3. Your aspirations are important. We write down the skills you need on your EHC plan. Your school, college or apprenticeship provider will use it to help you reach your aspirations.

I'm not completely happy with this. It needs more work in the editing. But it does show that when you are forced to think about the words you are using, changes can be important. Just like our young people's aspirations. Because of the phrase "Your school, college or apprenticeship provider", the sentence is still long, just shorter than before. Go for better, not perfect.
